Why 2026

Stress and sleep are the two fastest-growing functional claim spaces in 2026, and ashwagandha is the leading botanical in both. The global ashwagandha market was valued above $500 million in 2022 and is projected to keep growing at a double-digit CAGR through 2030, with adaptogen products moving from niche to mainstream.

Science Snapshot

Withanolides — primarily withaferin A and withanolide A — are the marker actives. Human trials support ashwagandha for perceived-stress and cortisol reduction, sleep quality and recovery, with the strongest evidence concentrated in the 300–600 mg daily range of standardized extract.

Formulation Notes

Earthy, slightly bitter notes are easily masked in capsules, gummies and chocolate-flavored blends. Pairs well with magnesium and L-theanine for sleep formulas, and with creatine or protein for sports-recovery stacks.
